    Gorges of Maestrazgo

    Gorges of Maestrazgo and Guadalope river are a popular scenic hiking area at the northwestern end of the Maestrazgo border. Many trails give different levels of challenge for hikers, including some that take you to the tops of escarpment for scenic views of the areas. The most popular are Pitarque Springs, Estrechos de Aliaga and Valloré de Montoro.

    Grade: level A / B, easy /moderate. Shortcut always posible.

    In the late 18th century Picos de Europa tours became an established way of experiencing wild and uncultivated landscape, along with what was thought to be the savage life of the inhabitants. In the period 1830-1885 an ever increasing number of tourists from England and the Continent came in search of this unique experience and picturesque tour.
